UGM Psychology Student Wins 2 National Swimming Medals

Syabilla Rizkia Putri Raharja, a 2023 student at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), has achieved a remarkable accomplishment at the 2025 National Invitational for Measurable Sports for University Students.

At the championship held at GOR Bulungan, Jakarta, on June 10–12, Syabilla proudly brought home two medals: a silver in the 50-meter backstroke and a bronze in the 100-meter backstroke.

Syabilla expressed her pride in representing Universitas Gadjah Mada at the championship. “As a UGM student, I feel proud to represent my university. This is my way of giving back to the institution that has supported my growth,” she said.

She explained that this swimming competition, organized by the Jakarta Provincial Office of Youth and Sports and the Indonesian University Sports Development Agency (BAPOMI), was attended by participants from more than 30 universities across Indonesia.

UGM MTQ Community Achieves Outstanding Success at the 2024 National Gebyar Brawijaya Qur’ani

The 10th Gebyar Brawijaya Qur’ani Nasional (GBQN X) 2024 was held at Samantha Krida Hall, Universitas Brawijaya. This year’s theme was “Grounding the Heart in Upholding Eternal Civilization of the Quran.” The event aimed to strengthen Quranic values among students and university youth through nine competition categories focused on religious and Islamic artistic skills.

GBQN X attracted 1,465 participants from 16 provinces across Indonesia. The competition series included registration, administrative selection, submission of written papers (for the Musabaqah Karya Tulis Ilmiah Al-Qur’an or MKTIA), announcement of finalists (for MKTIA), competition rounds, and the final announcement of winners. Universitas Gadjah Mada sent nine delegates to compete in the categories of Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ), Musabaqah Tartilil Qur’an (MTrQ), Musabaqah Karya Tulis Ilmiah Al-Qur’an (MKTIA), and Musabaqah Khattil Qur’an (MKQ) – Decorative Category.

UGM Student Team Uncovers the Dark Reality of Child Sex Tourism in Bali

Tourism has become a vital sector for the Indonesian economy, especially in Bali. However, the influx of tourists has significantly transformed the lifestyle of the Balinese community—including the involvement of children in tourism activities. This illegal involvement has been exacerbated by the disturbing rise of Child Sex Tourism (CST), which includes pedophilia and the sexual abuse of minors.

In response to this alarming issue, four students from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), each from different academic disciplines, joined forces as part of the Student Creativity Program for Social and Humanities Research (PKM-RSH) to conduct field research in Bali.

The UGM Psychology Debate Team won third place at Psychology Village 2024.

The UGM Faculty of Psychology student team succeeded in achieving third place in the 2024 Psychology Village Debate Competition held by Pelita Harapan University on April 19-25, 2024.

The team consisting of Nadia Puti Dianesti (2021), Seravin Afra Secunda (2022), and Alya Nur Faiza (2022) took part in a series of competitions divided into three rounds before finally being crowned third place on Thursday (25/4). read more

Nadia Puti Dianesti Selected as UGM’s Third Outstanding Student

UGM Faculty of Psychology student recorded another achievement, Nadia Puti Dianesti (2021), in the 2024 Gadjah Mada University Student Achievement Selection (Pilmapres) event. She won third place in the UGM Presidential Election in the undergraduate category after competing with 26 participants announced on Saturday (30/3). Before achieving this achievement, Nadia had been named an outstanding student at the first level of the UGM Faculty of Psychology. read more

UGM Faculty of Psychology Team Wins 1st Place in National Psychology Debate Competition

Good news comes from the UGM Faculty of Psychology Debate Team, led by Nadia Puti Dianesti (2021), with members Seravin Afra Secunda (2022) and Sinta Damayanti (2021), who successfully won first place in the Psyferia 2023 Debate Competition at Universitas Padjadjaran on Sunday (8/10). Not only that, the UGM Psychology Faculty team also received awards as the 3rd Best Speaker by Seravin and the 8th Best Speaker by Nadia out of more than 60 debate participants. This national psychology debate competition was participated by representatives from various universities in Indonesia, including Diponegoro University, University of Indonesia, and Sanata Dharma University. read more

UGM Psychology Student Successfully Becomes The Most Active Inspirational Student National Ambassador 2022

Dyah Pitaloka Putri Sutanto, a UGM Psychology student who was successfully named the 2022 Most Active Inspiring Student National Ambassador. The selection of ambassadors was carried out by the Ragam Class as a platform for self-development and Creative Education for Indonesian Children. The election of ambassadors is one means of voicing ideas for the country. “For me, the opportunity to speak to represent the province where I grew up is a calling that I have long wanted,” said Dyah, his nickname. read more

ARLOJI team Won 1st in The National Competition of Organizational Case

Using the team’s name ARLOJI which was taken from the name of each member, AR from Alvin Rizki Sitompul, LO for the name Gloria Anggita Purwaningrum, and JI which was taken from the name Pahru Rozi managed to win the national level competition. More precisely, the ARLOJI team won 1st place out of more than 30 teams registered in the Organizational Case Competition. The competition was organized by the Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Technology and Systems Engineering, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (BEM FTIRS ITS). read more

Collaboration Leads to Achievements: Zaadila’s Story Wins 1st Place in External Health Podcast

Competing in a group consisting of two people, Zaadila Muftial Mabrur, who is a 2018 Psychology student, together with Annisa Oktaviani Guntara, a 2018 Dentistry student, won 1st Place in the External Health Podcast. This achievement was achieved in the National Parliamentary Competition in Health organized by Dewan Permusyawaratan Mahasiswa Politeknik Kesehatan Semarang. read more

Dewan Laksamana Putra: Wins PIMNAS 34 Gold Medal

UGM Psychology Faculty students, Dewan Laksamana Putra or commonly called Dewan won a gold medal at the 34th PIMNAS 2021. Together with two friends from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISPOL) UGM, Dewan won a gold medal through the title of research “Zoom Hit: A Study of Expectation Violations in Interpersonal Relationships for New Students 2020 through Virtual Meetings during a Pandemic”. read more
