Dra. Anita Lestari, M.Si. Has Passed Away

On Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 7.59 p.m. Dra. Anita Lestari, M.Si., one of our beloved lecturers passed away. Almarhumah passed at the age of 62 years at the university hospital. The farewell ceremony took place on Monday, October 16, 2017 in her house. The burial was held at 1 p.m. in Majegan, Pandowoharjo, Sleman.

Almarhumah was born in Sleman on December 29, 1954. She began her primary ducation in SDN 6 Sleman, then her junior high school years were spent in SMPN 1 Sleman, and she finished high school at SMA Yayasan Tarakanita I. She continued her education in 1986 by enrolling as a psychology student at Universitas Gadjah Mada. In 1994, she started her master’s in psychology at Universitas Gadjah Mada as well.

Her work in our faculty started in 1988, she became a Penata Muda Asisten Ahli Madya in 1989 and then was promoted to Penata Muda tingkat 1 Asisten Ahli in 2001. In 2009, she became the head of the faculty’s Human Resource Quality Improvement Institute, also known as Lembaga Pengembangan Kualitas Manusia (LPKM).

Throughout her life, she has achieved many things. One of her accomplishments is the 10-Year Satyalencana Karya Satya Award from the president of Indonesia in 2007. She also receieved an award for her 25 years of service to Gadjah Mada University (Piagam Penghargaan Kesetiaan 25 Tahun Mengabdi di Universitas Gadjah Mada) in 2014.

The whole academic faculty, staff, and students are deeply sorry for this loss. Our hearts and prayers go to the family and friends of Mrs. Anita. We wish that she her soul may rest in peace, that her good deeds be received by Allah SWT, and for her sins to be forgiven.
