Yogyakarta — The Human Resources Development Unit (UPKM) of the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has once again been trusted as the implementing partner for the Potential and Competency Assessment for employees of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub). In this period, the assessment is aimed at employees within the Directorate General of Land Transportation (DJPD). This activity is part of the strategic collaboration that has been established routinely for the past few years between UPKM and Kemenhub in an effort to support the strengthening of the quality of human resources (HR) in the transportation sector.
The assessment this year was held on 6 and 7 May 2025 offline at the UGM Faculty of Psychology, with 42 participants from Echelon III (Projected Administrator Position) and Echelon IV (Projected Supervisory Position) from various work units within the Kemenhub. This activity aims to map the potential, managerial competency, and leadership capacity of employees as a basis for career development, job promotion, and competency-based HR planning. UPKM UGM designs and manages the entire series of assessments that include computer-based tests (CBT), problem-solving tests, and individual interviews. The assessments are designed comprehensively to explore cognitive abilities, personality, and professional competencies that are relevant to job needs.
This collaboration is part of UPKM UGM’s contribution to supporting the strengthening of human resource (HR) governance systems within the Ministry of Transportation that are transparent, objective, and performance-based. In addition, this activity aligns with the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through the implementation of this assessment, it is expected that high-quality human resources and a positive work environment will be fostered, enabling employees to work productively, healthily, and prosperously in providing the best transportation services for the community, while also supporting the achievement of SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being). UPKM UGM remains committed to strengthening its collaboration with the Ministry of Transportation and various other institutions to support the development of resilient, adaptive Indonesian human resources who are ready to face global challenges.
