The Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and TVRI Yogyakarta return with the latest episode of OPSI: Psychological Talk. The third episode aired on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM WIB, featuring the theme “Thriving Schools as the Foundation of a Golden Generation: Pillars of the Nation’s Future.”

This episode featured Diana Setiyawati, S.Psi., MHSc., Ph.D., Psychologist as the main speaker. Mrs. Diana’s research interests focus on developing mental health systems using a multilevel approach, with family and school playing key roles. Her expertise spans Psychology and Cognitive Science, with a focus on Biological Psychology (Neuropsychology, Psychopharmacology, Physiological Psychology) as well as Health, Clinical, and Counseling Psychology. She is actively involved in various professional associations and conducts research with the Center for Public Mental Health (CPMH) at the Faculty of Psychology UGM.

The episode discussed how schools can cultivate a golden generation for Indonesia’s future. To help students reach their full potential, schools need to create safe and supportive environments. Teachers, curriculum, and learning systems play crucial roles in building character, maintaining mental health, and preparing students to face the future.

At first glance, a thriving school might sound like a school that prioritizes the psychological happiness of students and all school members. Is a thriving school a place that spoils its students? Or does it offer a promising education? These questions are answered in this episode, clarifying that a thriving school is not about pampering but about providing a holistic and promising education.

This episode thoroughly explores the role of schools as a vital foundation in building a golden generation that is resilient academically, emotionally, and socially. The discussion offers insights on how to realize thriving schools capable of producing quality future generations.
