Thursday (14/10) the Center for Lifespan Development (CLSD) held a closing ceremony for the 2021 International Online Summer Course. The summer course with the theme “Disability and Lifespan Development: Indonesia and Global Perspectives” arrived at the end of the event after two months from early August to mid-October 2021.
The event which took place from 17.00 WIB to 19.00 WIB was attended by 50 people, consisting of summer course participants and the general public. Also attending the event was the head of CLSD UGM Elga Andriana, S.Psi., M.Ed., Ph.D, lecturer at the Faculty of Psychology UGM Pradytia Putri Pertiwi, S.Psi., Ph.D., lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business UGM Wuri Handayani, SE, Ak., M.Sc., MA, Ph.D., and also Prof. David Evans of the University of Sydney.
Online Summer Course participants who have been divided into eight groups present the results of the research designs that they have prepared for several days. Each group presented a very interesting and creative presentation of the program. The limitations of distance and time did not dampen the enthusiasm of the participants in exchanging ideas and collaborating in preparing their research plans.
Presentasi penelitian masing-masing kelompok banyak mengangkat tentang tema permasalahan yang dihadapi penyandang disabilitas dalam mengakses pendidikan. Beberapa setting pendidikan yang dijadikan objek penelitian sangat beragam mulai sekolah inklusi, pendidikan ke luar negeri dan pembelajaran online yang dilakukan pada saat pandemi.
Eight groups of summer course participants gave maximum presentations. In addition to a good and progressive research idea, they also present it with an interesting presentation. Prof. David Evans, who was present on this occasion, also provided constructive suggestions and input for each group to improve the research design.
After the presentation session was over, the committee played a video of the Online Summer Course event from the opening on August 3, 2021 to October 14, 2021. In addition, there was also a testimonial session from both participants and the event organizing committee about this event. The event, which was held in 20 series of online lecture classes and was filled by 21 expert speakers from 7 countries, ended with a beautiful impression for the participants, presenters, and the organizing committee.
At the end of the event the dean of the Faculty of Psychology UGM, Rahmat Hidayat, S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D. gave a speech at the same time closing the 2021 CLSD Summer Course. Rahmat expressed his appreciation and gratitude to CLSD UGM, presenters, participants and all parties involved in this Summer Course event. Rahmat hopes that this interesting and inspiring event can be held again in the future.
