KDM: Mixed-method Design Applied in Clinical and Health Psychology Research: Introduction & Sharing of Experience

Promovendus Club (PC) from Doctor of Psychology Program held Two-Week Colloquium (KDM) online on Friday, November 6, 2020.

This two-weekly event raised a topic called Mixed-method Design Applied in Clinical and Health Psychology Research: Introduction & Sharing of Experience this week and collaborating with the speaker, Andrian Liem Ph.D, postdoctoral researcher from University of Macau, who is also an alumni Professional Psychology Program Faculty of Psychology UGM.

In his presentation, Andrian mentioned about the basic concepts of mixed method design, as well as examples of the research using this method. Mixed method is a research that combines quantitative and qualitative methods, “Combining the strengths of each methods in order to cover each flaws is the essence of mixed method” said Adrian.

Furthermore, Adrian also conveyed about his dissertation about alternative medicine in Indonesia with the title A complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) study among clinical psychologists in Indonesia using mixed method design.

After the presentation, the event that attended by 125 participants was followed by discussion session, guided by the moderator.

Apart from being organized through Zoom Meeting, this event was also broadcast live Doktor Ilmu Psikologi UGM Youtube channel.
