Faculty of Psychology UGM held online sharing session called INPSYRATION via Google Meeting on Friday, June 19 2020 at 1.30 – 3.00 PM.
INPSYRATION is an event that intended for UGM psychology students, which can be followed free by registering through prepared link. This event is the first series of the event that held by The Faculty, which aim to hone the creativity of students in generating creative ideas during the semester break, so that the free time they have can be used to carry out positive activities.
The session begin with opening speech from Dr. Nida Ul Hasanat, M.Si. as Vice Dean of Academic and Student Affairs, followed with sharing session that guided by Jovanna Islamy Yaffi as the moderator.
Faiz Fakhruddin had the opportunity to become the speaker at this event. He is a founder of the Yogyakarta Gajahwong school. Gajah Wong School is a free school for scavengers, beggars, buskers and street children in D.I. Yogyakarta. The school was first established in 2009, began with a discussion about the community related to children’s education. The concern was children do not have time to play and developing themselves according to their needs. Because mostly, they spent their time to earn a living in order to help their parents also support families.
Gajahwong School has a basic principal, that children must have their playtime. So the learning system there is a combination of learning, play and exploration activities. One of them is gardening activity.
After the sharing session, the event continued with a Q & A session and closed with closing statement from Ardian Praptomojati, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psychologist and Elga Andriana, S.Psi., M.Ed., Ph.D as a representative of the UGM Faculty of Psychology.
