Busy schedule of online lectures and COVID-19 situation did not make students from Faculty of Psychology UGM remain silent. A number of Student Activity Councils (BKM) helped in dealing with this situation. One of the the BKM who intervened to help fight COVID-19 is Repsigama, a nonprofit organization engaged in the field of disaster.
So far, Repsigama has joined the collaboration in the procurement of the Gelanggang Bergerak activity and collaborate with the Emergency Response Center (GER), Disaster Response Unit (DERU), and Health Promoting University (HPU). Gelanggang Bergerak provides health checkpoints for volunteers who are involved as the front guard to help COVID-19. The medical check-up carried out twice a week, including blood pressure and body temperature checking.
Repsigama is one of the fundraisers initiator which provide assistance to health workers by inviting other BKM in the UGM Faculty of Psychology. In addition, Repsigama also helped to spread the information that related to blood donations during COVID-19 pandemic and invited public to do blood donating, because there are deficient of the blood stock during this pandemic.
As a form of collaboration with UGM’s Health Promoting University (HPU), Repsigama collaborates with the Center for Public Mental Health (CPMH) and the Psychology Consultation Unit (UKP) of the Faculty of Psychology to spread information through social media about call centers for psychosocial support during COVID-19. This information provision is an activity to help the psychosocial fulfillment for UGM academic community, ranging from students, lecturers, educational staff, to laboratory assistants / study centers in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic.
