Tuesday (4/9) Faculty of Psychology UGM organized a workshop titled “Art Therapy for Children with Special Learning Disabilities”. This Workshop presented Prof. Dr. Evelin Witruk from the University of Leipzig, Germany as a speaker.
The event that took place in Auditorium G-100 was held smoothly with attended by more than 70 participants from various circles of good students, practitioners, and psychologists to school teachers are amazing.
The event takes place from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 a.m, opened with a welcome by the representative from Faculty of Psychology UGM Dr. Wenty Marina Minza, M.A. in the speech he revealed that “art therapy is a thing that has not been studied by a wide audience so that it is a good opportunity to learn about art therapy directly with the experts”.
The implementation of this workshop is divided into 3 sessions and implemented in 3 different days. In the first session of the workshop focuses on learning how to do an assessment of children with learning difficulties. Participants are invited to try directly the test equipment used in the assessment of children who have difficulty learning such as children with dyslexia. Acted as a moderator at this session was Satwika Rahapsari, S. Psi, M.A., R-DMT who is also a lecturer in the Faculty of Psychology UGM.
At the end of the session, participants are given the opportunity to ask questions related to the submitted material. One of the participants revealed that he really appreciated the organizing of this event because it helped him in understanding his child with special needs. (Psychology Public Relation UGM/Jehna)
