The Case Competition that has been held so far has been dominated by topics related to business only. “Our curiosity in case competition is one of our reasons for participating in the competition. Moreover, the case competition this time about organization”. Apart from these two reasons, the ARLOJI team decided to take part in the competition to seek experience related to studying various forms of analysis that had not been encountered in class sessions in lectures.

“At the same time, we combine our knowledge and experience as administrators of the Student Institute of Psychology Universitas Gadjah Mada (LM Psi UGM) and our passion in industrial and organizational psychology.” Currently, Pahru and Gloria are carrying out their responsibilities as Expert Staff at the PSDMO Bureau of LM Psychology UGM, while Alvin as Vice Chairman in the same organization.

For Gloria, the experience of this competition was the first time, while for Alvin and Pahru, they had previously been part of a competition team related to joint essay writing related to how to maintain the welfare of employees who do remote work. “Hopefully, after participating in this race, we can implement what we learn wherever we are”. In addition, the ARLOJI team also hopes to take part in a similar competition in the future.

Regarding the preparation of competition, the ARLOJI team started by studying the material given at the pre-event workshop. The ARLOJI team admitted that the workshop became a very insightful moment because it could learn various forms of analysis for the purpose of helping the problems and potentials of an organization. After the workshop, the competition committee released a case which was then read by each member according to the understanding and solution understood. “Next, we met by online several times to brainstorm and give each other points of view on the case.” In addition, the team also used several forms of analysis that were learned during the workshop as well as several sources on the internet and journals. The preparation was closed with the stages of transferring the ideas of each member into the presentation and practicing to explain.
