Students are a major element of the society of academicians. As such, it is necessary for them to better and mature themselves in order to establish a brighter future for the nation.
Students are not only expected to delve deep into their field of study, but also to participate in activities that build character and shape them into great leaders in the future. They are given the chance to join activities within and outside the campus. Additionally, student coaching is held in hopes that it could serve as an outlet for students to develop their talents and interests as well as score achievements in various kinds of activities.
Coaching for student organizations is based on the principle “from, by, and for the students”. Thus, coaching strategies are mostly designed to be as much as assistive as possible instead of intrusive.
Coaching for student organizations asks the students to emphasize extracurricular activities as a media for academic exercises. This way, academic climate may hopefully pervade each and every extracurricular student activities. Operationally, student organizations could act as center of study and development of scientific works. Of many research-based scientific studies that have won in the national competitions, a large amount were conducted by student organizations.
Student organizations are also suggested to hold events with the aim of fundraising. This is a method to plant entrepreneurial spirit and values within the students.
